There's also access to porno channels in just about every hotel these days as well.
That doesn't mean the hotel chains are trying to push porn on people -- so in the same vein, a Bible in every hotel room doesn't mean they're trying to push Christianity.
By the way, Marriott hotels have the Book of Mormon in every room, in addition to the Bible -- but that has never made me feel that Mormonism was being pushed on me.

They are put there by the Gideons, in case someone needs some spiritual guidance. Hotels, motels, etc. are where people generally stay when they travel to a funeral or some other terrible situation. Since the majority in this country are Christian, then it is perfectly reasonable to expect an organization to help the spiritual needs of people away from home.

It's the same reason PETA exists. Freedom of speech, assembly, and religion. There are Christian groups that ask hotels if they can put a bible there.
If you don't like it, the 1st Amendment also gives you the right to complain to the hotel.

umm i think i learned about that in language like a really long time ago. there was a christian organization who went out and put a bible in every hotel room at major hotels ithink. im not sure but thats all i remember. sorry i wasnt much help.

It is a service provided for many years by the Gideons. The bibles are supplied free. There has been an outcry, since no other religion is represented. But frankly, if there is a society of Muslims or Jews that want to supply millions of their books for free, then who's to stop them?

This is because an organisation called the Gideons have made it their work to provide the Word of God in as many hotels/places of accomodation as possible.

That is a great job. Wishing that believers of other religions also place their Holy Books as widely as the Bible for more people to be able to get in touch with the divine counsels of the One True God. Mankind are urgently in need of divine wisdom to solve our global problems: pollution, ignorance, poverty, disease, racism, terrorism, consumerism...
Without divine love to accomplish world unity, we can never solve these problems or even ridiculously destroy ourselves.

Gideon gives them away for free ... they offered them to all hotels, and who were the hotels to turn away a free gift?
