I've been dancing as exercise since last Tuesday, ran 24 laps Wednesday, did 75 sit ups Friday and I keep running in place occasionally.

My body feels sore all over. It hurts when I walk, laugh, move and sit. When will the pain go away and why is it there in the first place?

Sounds like you're maybe hitting it too hard starting out. I suggest maybe slowing down some. Your body must have time to adjust to the sudden increased stresses put on it.

You'll feel some soreness regardless initially, but it should go down in a week or two as your body adjusts. Some things to try are: stretching thoroughly after your workouts, taking a very hot bath or shower (this increases blood flow to the muscles which rushes in nutrients and pulls out lactic acid buildup), replenishing post-workout nutrients such as carbs and protein, and getting plenty of rest.

Pain is gooood. It shows you are getting a good workout. Try taking supplements to help repair your muscles afterwards like a protein shake.
