My cat doesnt appear sick. he is a Persian with very long hair. Sometimes I notice that he sneezes. This might seem like a silly question, but its normal for cats to sneeze from dust or hair, right? It doesn't always mean something is wrong? I don't remember any other cat I have had sneezing. Btw, it is not often, it is just every now and then. He has been immunized and I was told he didn't have any diseases, but you never know.
Thanks.

Of course! Even if you don't remember any other cat sneezing, they had to sometimes. Don't worry, nothing is wrong.

When I worked as a Vet Tech (while going through EMT school) any cat that sneezed or dog that coughed was immediately quarantined from the other animals due to the possibility of a contagious infection. It's ok for cats to cough, or dogs to sneeze, but not the other way around, was my understanding. I would say it's worth it to pay to consult a vet and have a few tests done to be safe. Who knows, though, maybe your cat's long hair is tickling it's nose, and nothing more.

Maybe he has a more sensitive nose than the other cats? Humans sneeze without being sick too. If it's just on occasion, I wouldn't worry about it.

Every animal that breathe air sneezes from time to time. It's normal. I have pet birds, cats, had rodents etc..
Don't worry about it.
As long as it is not excessive and there is no nasal discharge, you have nothing to worry about.

Cats will sneeze from time to time to clear their nose. (Just like people.) It's coughing you need to look out for.
