Well, firstly, the long term use of laxatives is an unusual thing. It is possible to use them like a recreational drug, but I doubt the short term effects would be the kind of thing someone who wants a recreational drug would put up with. Therefore, if it was for a medical reason, medical advice would always beat Yahoo answers. But, I do know for sure that lazy bowels is an effect of long term use of laxatives. Basically, if you keep using laxatives, you'll lose lots of essential bits from your food, because laxatives will rush your poo out. So, there you have it, lazy bowels and deficiencies long term, and fecal incontinence short term. Laxatives are nasty aren't they.

NOT GOOD AT ALL FOR YOUR BODY!
Laxitiaves are stimulants they put undo stress on your system. You can become addicted to the laxitave and go through withdrawl when you finally get off of them. And get off of them you will sooner or later one way or another. I would say find a more healthy way to loose weight.

your bowel will forget to work as laxatives do the work for you, not good if you have been taking them for a long time, also not good for other organs in your body, try using a very high fibre diet rather than laxatives and drink plenty of water
