so i bought this new digital camera...and its great, except i can't load them to my computer because when i put in the disc to load the program thing it came with it tells me that i need microsoft 2000 or higher, but i don't have the money to pay for it, and im not even sure that my computer is updated enough to hold that...so is there any other way to load them to my computer without haveing microsoft? or is there anyway i get microsoft for free? do i need a different camera that dosent require such advanced stuff? dose it matter what kind of camera it is? mine is a Kodak easy share c743...just FYI....
thank you for your help.

First, there are many other programs u can use to do this, free ones too.

But the EASY WAY!:
Plug the camera in via the USB cable.
Then open my computer.
You will se an icon u normally dont c, it will be ur camera.
Double click on it and look in a folder or two and your pictures should be there.
Select and copy paste your pictures from there into some folder in your documents or w/e.
Then eject the camera by in my computer, click on it but only once so its selected and look on the left side for a eject link.

Dont delete the pictures while plugged into the computer cus the camera manages that and u might looze space. If u do do that and start loozing space, reformat it there should be an option in the camera settings.

I doubt that you will find a driver for it if the original box said 2000 or newer in the requirements! Thats why you read the box before you buy it! At best, you might email kodak support and tell them your problem.
I got news for the rest of yas! Win 98 or me aint gonna have a usb driver for it!

a_________________________________
1)plug in the cable it came with called USB
2) click on 'my computer' on your desktop/workspace
3) if you see a letter drive after 'C' like G or F etc, then this may be your camera, view the directories until you find your pictures,
you can then copy and paste to 'my documents'
click on 'folders' icon on top to see full directory of folders/tree

if this is a new camera, then go to tthe manufatures website for a different version of software that is compatible with your windows system, but before you find out which type of windows you are running. Also call, but don't get trapped into extened warranties...

You need to get a USB cable, and hook the camera directly to the computer.

Avoid the disks at all costs.
