I have a beautiful rotty, she is so clever and when we are out she is great, and walking home, she is great - but on the way out, she pulls and pulls. It is embarrasing and i get cross with her, which makes me feel guilty also. i have tried treats and the stop method, and she has a choker!! Nothing seams to work! I dread taking her out now!

Look for a professional dog trainer in you area and get training. Sometimes its as much training of the owner as the dog.

Stop using the choker, alot of people use them wrong and as there name suggests they choke, which is no fun for the dog.To stop a dog pulling you have to train it to heel, which means walking by your side. It's easily done if consistent with it.Practice around your garden first, keep her on a short lead,on a normal collar, and every time she pulls tell her to heel and give a very quick snap of the lead.A good training class is perfect for heel work. There are better collars on the market then chokers, try a halti, which is like a horses head harness,it's safe and gives you alot more controll. You will be amazed at how it works, dogs stop pulling on it as you have control over there head, when you turn for instance they turn aswell.Good luck.

Well Jenny, it's going to take some time to break this habit. I suggest you forsake the choke-collar for a harness to give you a little more control. Don't get angry with your pooch either. To convince her that you are the "alpha" and that she is following you, you will have to show calm, cool, and confidence in leadership. Keep her chest astride with your left leg, and keep her "heeled" while you walk through use of your lead and harness. This will require some physical exertion, but it will eventually show her that you are the boss and she'll quit taking you for walks, lol. A few other things to look at are the environment you're walking in. If there's something around your path that piques her interest, she's going to want to run off and explore it, dragging you along with her. Other lifestyle changes you will want to make are to make sure that when you go somewhere (i.e. through doors, to other rooms) that you go first, she goes second, and make sure that when she gets treats or rewards, that she is in a subdued frame of mind (not excited, jumping, barking, etc.) usually sitting, quiet, and looking at you, waiting patiently, vs. excited, barking, demanding, and chomping at the bit. All of these behaviors will help to assert you as the Boss Dog, and she'll feel much better for having her place in your pack clearly defined.

Get them on a Halti or Gentle Leader - it may take a bit of getting used to - for them not you. We have Great Danes and our last boy used to crash me through doors to get to his training class until we put him in a halti and then walks became fun and there was no stress for the dog.
Remember that he is a strong breed and all you are doing is encouraging her to build her neck muscles and anyway they are cruel. How would you feel if you were dragged around on one when you wanted to go shopping!
Go to a good pet store where you can try them out for size and make sure it fits well - you can clip them to the lead for extra control - but you wont need to.
I am an average sized female and can easily control 2 Great Danes.
Good Luck

Buy a harness. You can get ones which apply pressure in a different way and so stop the dog pulling.

You should work out by doing 200 lbs bench press and put on about 50 lbs. Your dog will be sh*t scared of you and will not disobey.
