Ok I'm REALLY becoming ashamed that I'm a member of Christendom.
Are we Christians really all this Bad, Atheists?
Lord help us!
Maybe we just need age restrictions for Q&A.
Although these ignorant teenagers learn it from somewhere.
PS: TO ALL MY FELLOW CHRISTIANS!!!!
Most of us desperately need to take clases in "Critical Thinking" or at the very least "Logic & Reasoning"...
When arguing ANYTHING (politics, psychology, economics, ethics, or even RELIGION), there exists something called: The Burden of Proof. The Burden of Proof states that s/he that makes a claim to validity, and/or existence bears the burden of proving such as IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PROVE THE NON-EXISTENCE OF SOMETHING!
I can argue: "Purple unicorns with green feet that try to eat our brains do not exist".
I don't bear the burden of proof. The fool that says that such creatures do exist bear the burden as NO MATTER HOW MUCH EVIDENCE I COME UP WITH THAT DISPROVES THEIR EXISTENCE, I CAN NEVER TRULY KNOW THAT ONE DOESN'T EXIST UNTIL ALL MICROMETERS OF THE UNIVERSE ARE EXPLORED, AND NONE TURN UP! Now, we as theists DO IN FACT bear the burden of proof in proving that something WE SAY EXISTS in fact does. It is possible to prove something's existence. It is not possible to prove something's non-existence.
I'm not sure how much longer I must ramble on with this for other Christians (and other theists alike) to understand.
........ NOW.......
concerning theism...
If we all take a step back from this entire argument, we can all see that there will never exist PROOF of God, as the premise behind theism is that God explains what occurs after death. Seeing as none of us have died, none of us can verify the alleged proof. So this will FOREVER be a circular argument.
Once again: THERE WILL NEVER EXIST ANYTHING YOU CAN SAY THAT WILL PROVE THE EXISTENCE OF GOD, SHORT OF DYING, FINDING OUT FROM EXPERIENCE, RECORDING IT, RESURRECTING, HAVING SUCH RESURRECTION RECORDED, AND SHARING YOUR PREVIOUS RECORDING WITH SOME ACADEMIC JOURNAL.
Period.
God Bless Everyone.

I think it is far more absurd to be so certain that there is a God. The consequences of living a life in servitude to find that, at the end, there is only one life, there here and now. I value my present life and an not prepared to give up my attitudes and lifestyle for some fantastical theory of a judgement day and an immortal life based on worshipping God. So even if there were a God, it makes no difference to me cause I am already living this life as if it is all I have, therefore I lose nothing. and IF this god fellow does exist, if he were to judge me on any other basis than how I live my life, like if I could only gain immortality through belief in him and not my actions, then I'm not interested.

I'm not 100 per cent certain there's no God. It's just the best judgement of likelihood I can make. Nor am I 100 per cent certain that a meteor won't strike me in the next 10 minutes. It's theoretically possible for sure, but so unlikely that I don't figure the likelihood into my everyday decision making. Lots of people have trouble putting extemely improbable catastrophes into perspective. This is called obsessive compulsive thinking. It is a common flaw of human cognition (all of us lose perspective at times), but it's sometimes is so pervasive as to be considered a mental disorder requiring treatment. Me, I've learned to live with this kind of uncertainty. Mostly.

Apart from the poor diction of the questioner, this is an interesting question to me.
I see a few people have answered that they see no evidence for God today, and that chaos reigns in the world and so the probability of a God is either zero, or so low that its not worth considering.
How sad! By inference, you have no reason for existance other than the evolution process (as you evolved from slime) you therefore have no purpose for existance, and life is completely meaningless. You are nothing more than a mixed up jumble of proteins/carbohydrates/lipids etc that just randomly at some point millions of years ago came into existance... and yet you have the ability to reason, think, learn, debate with others, you appreciate taste, smell, sleep, your ability to see, the money you earn etc. What a powerful arguement for intellegent design in and of itself the shear brillance of the human mind.
When the atheist sees no evidence of God, I see abundant evidence in nature, the cosmos, humanity, the existance of morals, the complexity of life, the nature of love and emotion, the good that does happen amoung the bad, the prophetic fulfillments of the bible and historical evidence for its accuracy.
But given that we were created with choice, God has allowed everyone to have their own opinion of His existance.
So, you ask, then why is there bad in the world and choas - simply, this is because there is a supernatural being called Satan, once an angel in heaven who aposes God and everything that he stands for and deceives the many people into thinking both he and God are nothing more than fairy tales. He is responsible (along with people's choices) for the evil on planet earth, not God.
But God's answer was to send his own Son Jesus to die in our place (to pay the penalty for our rebellion and alignance with Satan) so that we might receive the reward that was rightly his - to live eternally. What an amazing promise. What you do with it, is up to you.

Actually, atheists are as bad a religious extremists as they block the acceptance of God or creator from thier mind and will not accept it as a possibility just as religious extremists will not accept Scientific logic. Both Science & Religion must converge and thier are many now seeing that point of view. Order in the universe does exist and life would not exisit with out it. There are many things science is unable to explain and I think this is where both points of view has to begin to meet. I do not accept many things the bible says, believe in evolution of the earth and it's life yet I do not dismiss that God cannot exist I believe that faith is needed to understand the bigger universe and where we fit into it. There are many scientifc theories that can not yet be proven (ie Big Bang, Black Holes, Dark Matter) yet people accept they are possible, likewise God or creator must also be considered.

If you are going to do drugs, then get on the Internet, it is polite to share. Otherwise, turn off the computer, get it together, and make some sense before you touch that keyboard again....the above has no meaning what so ever...and I am NOT on drugs.
Oh, and NO, "you Christians" are not all the bad. In fact, for the most part, I find you very nice, caring people...it is the few fanatics that make the noise and are heard by all.

If you can prove his existence, then please do state your proof on this forum.
I'm sure we would ALL like to see this proof.
Otherwise you are acting just like a scammer.
Oh yeah Deism - I forgot the nature. Well yes that is proof of A Supreme Being. I'm happy to accept that.
But we want proof of the God of the Bible, the one that claims all non beleivers will live in fire & hell & damnation for ever and yet claims to love all of mankind.
I want proof that of THAT God.

Because we're too smart to believe all that crap in the Bible.
Here's an example:
A elderly old man, builds a giant boat, sails around the world picking up 2 of every species on the planet, only to redistribute them in their original environments later, with none of them dying.
Who in their right mind would believe some crap like that?

I can't prove that a god doesn't exist. So, I take the opposite view.
What is the evidence that it does? Answer : None. (Look at a flower is not evidence of god, nor is pointing to a religious book)
Conclusion: The probability of a god existing is so low it can be treated as zero.

Man, I wish you guys would learn how to form a sentence properly.
There are consequences for actions but people get them in this life. Atheists are atheists because they see no evidence for the existence of any Gods. How come that is so hard for you to understand?
