3 yrs ago, I decided to drink more water after I read it helps to keep the complexion clean and glowing. O.K, it was true, but it seems my system has become accustomed to being flushed with lots of water daily that if I indulge more in other drinks for one day eg; soda, juice -it burns when i urinate. It feels like I have to force out more urine when there isn't. Sometimes, i feel like sitting in a bath of water and force out in drops and I feel better. Then it helps if I rush and drink a few glasses quickly to flush out the bug?
I assume my system should be able to take one day with less water since I normaly drink lots of water?
But my husband, brothers and sisters do not care to drink water daily and have gross urine colour, but they are always fine and do not have the same problem as me. Do I suffer from a bladder or kidney condition-even if I've practiced healthy living? My family thinks I use salt too frequently in my diet- eg on my fruits. Is there any possible link?

it sounds like urinary tract infection... the doctor would advise drinking lots of water to treat the symptoms and medication to treat the infection. if you've been drinking alot of water then the symptoms will temporarily subside but the infection still remains and symptoms return when you don't drink water. Try "Uran" from the chemist (Australia) or you can just ask the phamicist for something that treats urinary tract infections.

Burning urine or scalding urine as it is called is due to acidity of urine and that irritates the urethra. Pl. get it confirmed by getting a simple pH test for urine done. In fact, even you can do it at home by getting a few pH strips and seeing the color change.

Urine should be neutral or alkaline but acidity is quite common esp. when you drink soda etc.

Ther are good options in homeopathy to help you. Or simply drink more water, and reduce your salt intake from other considerations of health. You could be having a chronic inflammation of the urinary tract also. A Complete Urine Examination and a Culture and Sensitivity test if needed will help. Absence of good bacteria in the stomach and intestines also causes the growth of bad bacteria and yeast in some cases.

Drink the water, if you are having burning then you probably have a urinary tract infection, best to get it cleared up before it develops into a kidney infection, you can buy AZO at a drug store to help with UTI's but it turns your urine orange, if that doesn't help then see a DR. I can't see why people hate to drink water.. I love water so does my 7 year old, you can even by fruit flavored water if that would help. Good Luck

OK all that about Urine tract infection. They will tell you to drink Cranberry juice for that too. Now about your family. WHat do you mean gross color. You are from a 3rd world country and I hope you don't mean the color of their urine is red. If it is red they may needed to be treated for some sort of disease. It is possible they have schistosomiasis. Blood worm. It may not be, since it could be many other things too.
