It takes like a minute after I press the on button (it is in hibernation) for my laptop to get from the screen where it says thinkPad to the screen where it says resuming windows.

This started happening yesterday.

Please help,

Panarchy

Stop putting the machine in hibernation. It is best just to turn off the machine. When you put a PC in hibernation all it does is put all your drives and hardware to sleep. So of course it's going to take a minute or two for them to start again. My suggestion, start turning it off.

Hibernation takes up like half the memory in your laptop, try resetting and it might be better

I think, there's some problem to your system. I suggest you to reformat your system drive (i.e. drive C) and reinstall your windows.
