Does seem that way doesn't it? I've thought a lot about this because I have gay friends/family that I genuinely love--and I am a born again Christian. I think the difference between someone who is gay vs. someone who has committed adultery, lied ,stolen, etc. is that for a gay person that is a daily lifestyle and it seems impossible that a gay person with a life partner and/or children would ever be able to give up that life if they wanted to be a born again Christian and live the kind of life they would be required to by God (I believe the Bible teaches that homosexuality is an abomination to God and that homosexuals will have no part in heaven--it's Scriptural.) However, it is also Scriptural that liars, adulterers, etc. will have no part in heaven. The difference is that a liar can quit lying, an adulterer can quit committing adultery. They can make the decision to accept Christ as their Savior and still keep their wife, kids, home, etc. What I'm trying to say is that for those kinds of sins, repenting of them doesn't necessarily mean their world will be turned upside down. For gay people, that's not the case. They couldn't repent, accept Christ and continue in the life they've been living--it would mean a separation from their partner, maybe losing their home; their world would be turned upside down. And I guess that's why homosexuality is treated differently than other sins. It's no worse, just harder to come out of. And God loves EVERYONE! But it doesn't matter if you're a homosexual or a preacher, or a very kind, sweet old lady. If you haven't acknowledged that Jesus is God's Son and received Him as your Savior, you're not going to spend eternity with Him. And that is every person's choice. But I agree with you that Christian people should show love for gays as well as everyone else. The problem often is that while you might be able to talk to an adulterer or a liar about their behavior being wrong, you cannot do that with most homosexuals because they feel they're being "judged" and do not acknowledge that what they're doing is wrong. They want not only to be accepted themselves, but they want others to accept their homosexuality as being perfectly ok. And for Christians to say it's ok is to deny the truth of God's word. I don't know what the answer is...except to love them and pray for them. Only God can truly change someone.

They suppose a character made the Universe, and he used to be known as God. They additionally suppose he made Adam and Eve (that they had 3 sons within the Bible, so in which does that go away the leisure people), and no longer Adam and Steve. There used to be not ever, of direction and Eve and Bev. It's pathetic. We're intended to suppose that a Man, Noah, who had 3 sons, and no daughters, constructed an Ark to avoid wasting all of the Animals from being drowned. It's a load of fairy-talt b*ollocks, and the deluded fools now consider they may be able to break out with 'Creationism' Many Christian groups are Christian with their attitudes, whilst tolerance, race, and variety are being mentioned, however look to fail to remember their hypocricy on the subject of homosexuality. Religion is a farce, and turns out to suggest it is higher for forty humans to overcome up a homosexual character, or beat them to loss of life, than it's for them to stroll thoroughly into their possess dwelling and cuddle their companion. I notion faith used to be all approximately tolerance and love. Now it transpires the Catholic church would possibly not condemn paedophiles, each heterosexual and gay. What a mockery they make of sanity. It's repulsive.

I don't hate homosexuals and yes Jesus taught to love everybody, the problem with people is they have learned to accept homosexuality, adulterers, and other sins. So many people have turned their backs on God. If I had a child that told me he was a homosexual or he wanted to live with his girlfriend, or even rob a bank, I would still love my child, but I would not accept it. It goes against God. What if I went out and killed 14 people would you just accept it, no you wouldn't because it's not acceptable. God loves the sinner, but hates the sin.

My thoughts are that you shouldn't make a generalization like that based on a few experiences. That's like saying you have tasted 5 flavors of Baskin & Robbins 31 flavors, didn't like those 5 and now you don't like any of them.
I absolutely love homosexuals. In a godly way. I cannot approve of the lifestyle they've chosen, but I love them and pray for them and have compassion for them, as I do for all of God's children, saved and unsaved. The Bible is pretty clear about God's position regarding homosexuals. I choose to follow His law - love thy neighbor as thy self and leave the judgment to Him.
Be blessed.
(By the way, Mint & Chip is the best! or as my teenage friend would say, "That's sick" (in a good way).

Even basically straight people are sometimes a little sexually attracted to the same sex on occasion or feel some curiosity and It's usually people who cannot come to terms with their own natural feelings of homosexual attraction that overdo the condemnation thing...I think it's a terrible guilt brought on them by a misunderstanding of human nature, their own feelings and shame induced by an exaggeratedly homophobic interpretation of scripture.
These people say they aren't scared of gays and I believe them... they are scared of their own gay feelings, that they might become totally gay and wind up the victims of the sort of prejudice they themselves presently mete out to gays.
Yes, it's a complicated situation but it's not hard to understand if you think it through logically.

I am a Christian! I love everyone, even if they're gay, but the thing I don't like is their sin of homosexuality. It is not what God wants, and they CHOOSE to disobey Him. I will pray for you. I hope God can give you a better answer. I hope you begin to understand.....

Its probably because many Christians find it difficult to love someone who is different from them. But this is the case amoungst the entire human race.
I agree completely that God loves someone who is gay, but in the same way as He disapproves of someones actions if they murder, steal, commit adultery, etc, he disapproves of the actions of someone who has homosexual sex. This is clear in the scripture.
Therefore, the Christian, should (through the love that God gives them) love gays, but try to exhort them to leave their sinful ways.

The true Christians don't hate the persons who are gay but what they do. No one can force me to agree with them because God clearly says what he thinks about homosexuality.
"What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor MEN WHO LIE WITH MEN, ... will inherit God’s kingdom. " - 1Corinthians 6:9,10
"O YOU lovers of Jehovah, HATE WHAT IS BAD.
He is guarding the souls of his loyal ones;
Out of the hand of the wicked ones he delivers them. " - Psalm 94:10
Me, personally, I never met a gay person but if I would and had the chance to speak to him about God's point of view I would do it respectfully. That's because God wants us to treat all people with respect. But as I said that doesn't mean I agree with his way of life.
