Under what circumstances can a police officer have their own siren lights on their car? Real knowledge requested - Thank you!

You mean on their personally owned vehicle?

I suppose that they COULD anytime (though their use would be limited by the Off Duty Action policy of their department), but I have never met a single cop who did.

Driving around with lights and siren for eight hours a day is quite enough. The other cops you worked with would look at you as an over-eager "wanna-be" if you did that. Leave the lights and sirens at work. Trust me.
