Honestly, if it's just for myspace without any computer editing such as photoshop, corel, etc. You don't need to buy a nice digital camera. If you're willing to spend 1 to 2 hundred dollars, why don't you just buy a digital camera that has around a 3.2 megapixel camera? That way you get a camera and a phone at the same time. If you're really interested in buying a digital camera however, yes, brand names such as Sony and Canon are good quality and they have a very broad range of prices. The best way to find prices is probably through BestBuy.com and other places. Costco.com is also pretty cheap if you have a membership and of course places like Wal-Mart, Target, etc. also sell digital cameras these days. If you're not picky about used or new, you can also try e-bay which is also a very good place to save money. Hope this helped!

Most people look for more megapixels in a camera, but you'll actually be better off with fewer megapixels. This is great news, since low megapixels are cheaper.
You don't want to post a whole bunch of huge megapixel images onto a web page... it takes forever to load, even with cable or DSL. People are going to give up on your web page before they even see all of the pictures. If you buy a 8 or 10 or 12 mp camera, you're going to be spending a lot of time editting pictures down to size.

Just dont be bothered by a name. Look for a camera that you can operate, and what it will allow you to do. And off course, what you can do with the camera. Then think of the price and name. A web cam doese all or most of these things. Unless you look like a model, then get a good one and sell yourself.

i am great fan of Sony i had Sony DSC P150 and later Sony DSC P200, both camera got 7.2 MP (MegaPixel) camera, with 3X zoom, it wuite robust camera for startup. Picture quality very very fine for day-to-day use, and yes it will last very long. if you got access to eBay, try to look for some deals on Sony camera and dnt get fooled by high street price of memory card, buy them too from eBay, you can get 4GB card for around £30 ($57)... and camera will cost around £150 on eBay... One thing more, Sony DSC P150/200 is great for outdoor too....so enjoy your camera

a Kodak. They are super easy to use, and a good price, but also a good camera! If you are just going to use it for myspace then you probably don't want too many different features. It's a good brand, that's what i recommend for you!!
