Why would anyone in their right mind use "there" instead of "their"? When in fact that's also incorrect, as "their mind" is a direct conflict between the possessive adjective (which is plural) and the singular article...
Anyway, that's beside the point. The point is we all have a right to believe in whatever we want. Some people believe in God because it's how they were raised. Some people had direct life experiences that they attribute to a holy spirit. Some people just need a reason to live, and believing in a God fulfills that desire.
People believe in God for the same reason, that others put faith in Science's promises to solve life's mysteries, even though there's very little doubt, that we'd be able to solve even one per cent of all the questions of the universe within our lifetime.
I don't really believe one way or another, but that's why people do believe that a God or almighty being exists.

I believe in God and His Christ because following His teaching changed my life for the better. He made me a better person.
Some people compare God to a fictional character. Well, santa clause has never given me anything and I've never had an encounter with the tooth fairy. You can tell me all the scientific facts and figures you want, but it all PALES in comparison to what God did to me through Jesus, His Christ. A personal experience trumps everything else!!
This is my personal experience, not a political stand or opinon and, as it cannot be disproved....it's just as valid as anything anyone else may say.
Praise be to GOD!!

People need something to make sense of the world they are in and to explain their place in it and make them feel connected to it. The conception of God in Eastern religions is that God and the divinity is everywhere and within all of us, while the "Western" religions like Christianity teach that we have a relationship to an all powerful entity that is beyond our world, and that we can only have this relationship to that god if we act in part of the society or group which follows that god. Very rough but hope that somewhat helps.

If God does Not exist, a person Loses Nothing by believing He does;
If God Does exist, a person wins Eternal Life by believing He does.
Nothing to Lose and everything to Win.
