AHH, i'm so confused. This guy, who I used to hang out with, NEVER calls. I ask him if he wants to hang out, but he seems always busy, like he has no time. I try to IM him everyday, he talks but if I don't IM, he doesn't really IM me. I feel like I have to force a conversation, but when I see him in real life, I know that he has the same feelings as me- I can tell that he likes me bcause he payes more attention to me than any one else I am hanging out with. I think about him a lot, but I'm just starting to feel like I'm disappointing myself. I mean, he's attractive, but maybe when he's with his other girl friends, he flirts with them.. I don't know if I should give up; it's hard to not think about him because I was close with him a year ago.

Sorry... but I would have to say that he doesn't really like you... at least not more than barely a friend... Usually if a guy likes you, he'll start up conversations with you (even IM especially if he hasn't talked to you for awhile), and makes time to hang out with you. Just because he pays more attention to you than to the people you're around doesn't necessarily mean he likes you a lot, it may just mean that he likes you more than the others (like, he's closer to you, knows you better....).
I would say stop IMing him so much, and see if he starts IMing you because he misses talking to you... he may have gotten used to you starting IMing him all the time... But if he only talks to you when he happens to see you, and won't make time to hang out with you.. he probably doesn't like you...
Is there some reason you feel you have to IM him every day? That might be a little excessive... so ease up on that and see what happens...

Just let him come to you, don't put all your focus on him and try to make him like you. Let him IM you, let him hang out with you, let him call you. If he likes you and it's mean to be then it will be, if not then ce la vie, life goes on!! There are plenty of fish in the sea
