I have been dieting for a couple weeks now, and have lost 15 lbs very easily. Now it seems like its getting harder, so I was wondering if diet and cardio work out is enough? I have a slimmer lower body, so I dont feel that I need to focus on that. My problem is mainly around my torso. What can I do to help it along? I have set a goal of May 1st...

You can't spot reduce; you need to reduce your overall body fat. There is no magic weight-loss pill, supplement, fad diet, or juice. The ONLY way to lose weight is to consume less calories than you burn. Brad Pitt didn’t get cut for Fight Club by drinking green tea, and you won’t either.

Walk for 30 minutes every day, including weekends, Mondays, and Fridays. Do at least 30 minutes of weight training each week. Do 60 minutes of additional, higher intensity cardio each week.

Cut back on the foods you eat with high fat and high sugar content. Eat only single servings (read the label) with less than 3 grams trans fat and 3 grams sugars. Throw out all of your ice cream, chips, cookies, cheese, fried foods, bacon, and candy.

Eat breakfast, and eat five small meals per day instead of three big meals. Don’t starve yourself during the day, but if you don't wake up famished, then you ate too much the day before. Stop eating at least two hours before you go to bed.

Get 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Turn off the TV and the computer. Sleep is vitally important.

Don't consume alcohol—alcohol is nothing more than empty calories with no nutritional value. Some people will argue that alcohol has some health benefits when consumed in moderation—I’m not debating that—but we’re talking about weight loss here. Quit whining and lay off the booze if you want to lose the belly.

Drink lots of water, then drink more. Not tea, not Gatorade, not milk. Water.

Good luck.

Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.

Continue doing what you are doing. Unfortunetly there is no such thing as 'spot' reduction. Adding weight resistence exercise is a good idea, as more muscle mass burns more calories at rest. Shouldn't set a goal date - being healthy should be a life long commitment.

Fat, unfortunatly cannot be targeted for loss.

Just keep up the good work and eventually the weight will fall off where you want it to. You just get nice side-effect weight loss elsewhere in the meanwhile.

Adding weight training should help too, the more muscle the higher your metabolism will be.

Running is fabulous.

Anything that targets your core muscles like crunches is going to do wonders in addition to running.
