its going to be virtually impossible to lose that much weight without strict diet and hardcore exercise - so if you really want the easy way out, just embrace your fatness, and live with it

It can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be !
A friend of mine lost 30 pounds last year simply by avoiding fatty, sugary food and drink and walking a couple of miles a day !
Walking is a cheap way to lose tons of weight ! If you can, just leave the car at home and walk , even if it's only to the corner shop !
I eat what I like, I never visit the gym , I've had two kids and I am in my late 30's ..and yet...I am a very toned size 10 ! Why ? Because I walk everywhere, honest !
Give it a go and see, it really does work ! Start off with short walks, and then as you get used to it, increase it gradually and just watch that weight drop off ! Yesterday I went for a 14 mile walk ( I am in training for something) but my point is that I had put on a lot of weight after the kids, drove everywhere and got lazy, until I decided enough was enough ! If i can do it, and my friend can do it...YOU can do it !
Just give it a go .

honestly, without a strict diet its not likely to happen. If you have a fast metabolism then it could be possible, however unlikely. but chances are that if you are 50-70 lbs. or more overweight you do not have a fast metabolism. If you don't wish to go on a very strict diet i suggest that you cut back on sugars, fat, sat. fat and also things with high calories, especially if they are from fat. i'm not saying that u should cut them out completely, just hold back on them a little. also run, run and run some more. actually any cardio is good, bike riding, stair master, jump rope, anything that gets your heart beating for a long period of time. all i can say is don't be dissappointed tho if you don't see the results you want, the harder you work, the more results u'll see, the better you eat, the more results you'll see. also don't eat more when u start working out, eat the same or less(depending on how much you eat now), don't eat right after working out or right before bed. if you do all that you will lose quite a bit of weight, probably not 50 or more lbs. but still it will be quite a jump. remember, you MUST eat, otherwise you will actually be hurting yourself instead of helping, just don't eat more just because you are working out, the way to lose weight is to burn off more calories than u take in. if you eat more calories because you worked out, then you are being counter productive because you are just replacing the calories you just burned with more calories.

First off... Don't do fad diets... Most of them are complete BS

Secondly 50 lbs in 4 months is fairly risky. I wouldn't suggest targeting 50lbs unless you are 275+ lbs.

You should probably aim for no more than 2 lbs a week (assuming you are average height/build). So 35 lbs in 4 months is probably a much better goal. Too much weight can be damaging. Just keep working on it throughout the summer.

Eat a healthier diet, fruits/veggies/nuts are some of the best stuff.
Dark berries are great.

One great suggestion is drink water, avoid other drinks like soda (even diet soda, which is high in sodium) and fruit juices that contain corn syrup (avoid all high fructose corn syrup). Yeah drinking mostly water is a great way to cut down on calories.

When i go food shopping I like to avoid junk foods so I'm not tempted (and they cost so much!).

Add some exercise to your routine, doesnt have to be crazy grueling exercise. If your not big on exercise just shoot for 1 hour a week... so 20 minutes a day.

No, probably not at all, even with a strict diet.

Let's say you have about 4 months to loose weight. You can loose about 2 lbs. a week in a healthy way with eliminating sugar and processed flour products and upping your lean protein, fresh veg & some fruit and getting at least 45 min. of exercise a DAY.

So that means you could safely loose about 32 lbs before June 15. It's best to take it slow and have realistic goals to keep you motivated, positive and seeing long term results.

First of all, it's February. If you think you are going to lose 50-70 pounds in 3-4 months you're crazy! Not only is that impossible to accomplish in a healthy way, it is extremely unhealthy in a "crash diet" way. Stay away from diets. YoYo diets are more harmful for you in the long run. You need to just watch what you eat. Stay clear of white foods (sugars, starches, rice, pasta, flours) and eat lots of fiber, raw veggies, almonds, whole grains, and fruit such as blueberries. Eat lots of small meals throughout the day. Exercise often. Cardio and weight training. Cardio is great for burning calories fast, but when you are done your metabolism will slow again. So you need to incorporate weight lifting in your routine. That raises your metabolism so you continue to burn calories long after you stop working out, even when you are sleeping. Drink lots of water, approximatley 1/2 oz for every pound you weigh in a day. So if you weigh 200 pounds, you need to drink 100 oz of water each day. Don't drink soda, don't eat margerine or mayo. Buy high fiber and grain breads. They are moist and you will no need the mayo. Don't eat fried, fast, or processed foods. Shop on the outter part of the grocery store. Stay out of the aisle, as that is where all the "bad" foods are. Stay away from trans fats... It's not difficult, you just need to force yourself to do it the first few weeks. It becomes addictive and easy after that!

Unless you are doing methamphetamines, you probably aren't going to see that kind of weight loss. Your body just can't handle that kind of rapid weight loss in a healthy manner. If you are losing that much weight that quickly you have some sort of medical illness (like a hyperthyroid, anorexia/bullemia, etc) or are using drugs. Diet and exercise are generally the best options for most people. If this is really a priority, you should talk to a bariatric specialist or your general practicioner.

I think you could lose 50 lbs before summer - I lost 21 lbs in 6 weeks with a diet from a1diet. I felt really healthy and didn't feel hungry. But you would have to get started straight away!!

Try cutting out sugars and excess oils in ur diet. Avoid eating carbs and proteins together and eat little meals more regular instead of large ones 3 times a day. dont starve ur self it causes ur metabolism to slow down. Eat everything raw or steamed. DO regular exercise try swimming, Weights bulk u up so stick to cardio when u start and train with weights when u have lost most of ur weight. If all else fails try going vegan, avoiding starchy veg.

All those gimmick diets, such as Atkins, are a complete joke. The best diet is that silly little food pyramid you learned about in grade school. Just eat a bit of everything: meat, grain, fruit/vegetable, dairy, etc. Then make sure you are drinking plenty of water, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. Lastly, avoid food that is blatantly crap: Chips, candy, fast food, etc. Do these things, and you should be fine.

quanity control and excercise are the key. Eating less and excersing more is the simplest answer but the trick is to do it sustainably, so, finind somethin in your like that ups the excersie and being able to eat just a little less will work. Walking 25 mins, briskly, pushing your self each time to be nearly out of breath is worth a pound a week!
