My son has the same thing. I tried everything from prescriptions to creams to ... you name it. I tried all the mild frangrance free soaps and detergeants... THEN one magical day, I stumbled upon a cute little old lady at the store who saw my little boy scratching away at his dry little belly. (The creams seemed to irritate him further). She came up to me and said "You need to rub some olive oil on him dear!" You know what? It WORKED! Now I mix a drop or two of tea tree oil with some olive oil and rub it on him in the morning and at night. At night I really grease him up and let it soak in over night while he sleeps. He even asks for it now because it feels so good, such a relief for him! Try it out!

I can identify with your problem. I have dry skin and what makes it worse is I live in a very dry climate which in summer is a real scorcher and where we get about three months of deep winter. The worst time for me is the winter. I do two things, which I'm afraid doesn't cure the problem but does alleviate it to more acceptable levels. In winter, I am forced to wear a double layer of socks because one pair doesn't stop the freeze coming up though the shoes, which also have double lining. When I take off the socks there is a lot of skin scaling off. I wash the feet, dry them carefully and then give them a brisk massage, removing the some excess signs of scaling without actually pealing the skin. Then I apply a moisturerizer. Shop around to find the one that best suits you. I found mind by talking to other sufferers. I would tell you my brand but it might be considered by our Yahoo masters to be spamming.

You should soak yourself regularly in an aromatheraphy oil bath. Just buy a bottle of your favourite scent and pour some of it in warm bath. After your bath, you can apply some lotion on your body too.
