People show me the verse that Jesus spoke that advocated violence or exploited religions. Answer: There are none.
Clearly the answer is both since man, not God, is responsible.

Religion does not advocate violence, violence cannot exploit religon. Violent people spoil its name like sharks do in the ocean.

I can't speak about other religions, but in the OT there a numerous instances that God used violence to even win political battles. In the NT, Jesus became violent when people were trading at the church!!!

Religion always, ALWAYS is againts bad stuff. It is always wrong to lie/rape/murder, ALWAYS. But it is violent people who use religion to justify themselves and it is ignorant people who believe them.
