You can read a lot about craigslist.com here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craigs_list. Craigslist gets a huge amount of traffic. I've personally sold a ton of stuff on there and it's all moved very quickly.
It's NOT like eBay in that craigslist does NOT get a percentage of the sales revenue, nor do you have to pay to list anything (except in a couple of areas, detailed below). Craigslist is basically online classified advertising and it's free in almost all of its locations.
Here's more information from the Wikipedia article:
It was founded in 1995 by Craig Newmark for the San Francisco Bay Area. After incorporation in 1999, Craigslist expanded into nine more cities in 2000 (all of them in the U.S.), four each in 2001 and 2002, and 14 in 2003. As of November 2006, Craigslist had established itself in approximately 450 cities all over the world.
As of 2007, Craigslist operates with a staff of 23 people. Its sole source of revenue is paid job ads in select cities ($75 per ad for the San Francisco Bay Area; $25 per ad for New York; Los Angeles; San Diego; Boston; Seattle; Washington D.C., and paid broker apartment listings in New York City ($10 per ad)).

Craig's List is okay I guess. Not the best, but not the worst either. If you're looking for stuff for cheap, www.pricewatch.com and www.resellerratings.com are good for PC stuff and electronics. Also Amazon.com and Ebay are (of course) good sites as well. Autotrader.com is pretty decent for autos too.

classic fraud, not only will you not hear from him, there's probably no way to catch him. You deposit the check, the bank clears the funds, you wire the remainder to the "shipper" who is in on the deal, and then the check bounces at the bank you you're left holding the bag. I'm sure the name is not real, any pictures you got are not real, and chances are the wire would be going to some place like Nigeria. Don't even bother trying to contact them, they're just bad news. Walk away and be happy you didn't fall for it.

Craigslist is a free online newspaper. You are able to post ads for free, and search ads for free. You can look at any city you wish around the world. It's is not a bidding system like ebay. Like I said, it's like a newspaper and you just search the ads. They have the price listed on their advertisement.
Check it out, it's a great website.

kind of like answers in a way, things u need to look for
u can look here, its all about real people that have needs
for things, but don't want to pay for things.

craigs list is a classified listing - you can post things to sell, services to sell, things like that - it is not an auction like ebay
