Yes. I have been fortunate in having about a half-dozen in my high school and college life that made a real impression on my life. I suppose we all have favorites in our school years; but these were truly extraordinary people, very talented and able to reach students with a love of learning. Unfortunately, these were six out of many more than sixty.

I have a teacher in high school who inspired me to study his subject, a very difficult one. He taught economics but he related it to the current issues. He encouraged my classmates and I to go beyond the textbook and learn about the problems of the society we were living in. I think he gave me the courage to become a brave person because I was chosen as the leader of my group for reporting in front of the other sections of the fourth year level. Although barely out of college, this teacher was very good in making the subject interesting to high school students. He was approachable and friendly. He was a down to earth person and pulled us out of our comfort zones.

It sad to say but I only had one. Most friends have said the same thing.

Teachers/professors don't seem to have the ambition to teach in a creative way.

I have a relative who was a professor and Dean of Humanities at our college..

I have never heard a good word about him.

I got so tired of hearing the remarks. Everyone seemed to go out of their way to tell me how they hated taking classes from him.

I eventually, just told them that I wasn't responsible for him.

He managed to milk his job for 40 years.

When he retired he had to move away.

ya.. long time ago, but he is not a prof...just a teacher...

All students admired his ways of teaching, very enthusiastic,

he really involved us in the teaching environment, he taught us

history and brought the history in ourselves. He neither scolding

nor shouting but always gave us chance to express

ourselves even you were in wrong situation. I dont know

where he is now, but thanks to him..he inspired us alot...

yes, my world history teacher in high school (1978)- Mrs. Gettman, she taught me to question everything and to think for myself. she was also a holocaust survivor, had her number tattoo on her arm. She died a few years ago, I miss her and I know that her students always got a little more out of life because she was so generous in sharing hers with us.

No.

Teachers are supposed to teach, not inspire.
