I've heard you cannot drink soda if you have braces. I'm getting them this week and I live off of Pepsi. : [

I did not ask if soda was healthy or not. I simply asked if you can drink it or not with braces. Thanks.

You could not drink soda with braces , it can damage your braces and take off the glue. My friend once was trying to drink soda with braces but then it got damaged and the orthodontist had to start all over and he had to wait more years to take the braces off so don t. Drink water or juice, some juices can have sugar but won t hurt your braces so make a good choice on drinking beverages.

Will you be capable? Of course!! but should you ? No. When the braces are removed there will be a very good chance that you will have ugly White decalcified spots on your teeth. I think those ugly white spots look worse than crooked teeth. The decalcification comes from acids and sugars in the soda

Of course, you can do anything you do now when you get braces...sometimes, after you get them tightened it might be harder to eat and hard foods and biting into hamburgers and such can sometimes be a bit uncomfortable but the soreness will wear off....you can even chew gum!! But, you'll need to ask your orthodontist about these things, especially the gum, my Dr. allows it but some might not. But can you drink pop......yes! I do all the time and know tons of people with braces who drink it too! Don't worry, having braces will be fun and nothing to worry about at all!
Good Luck, hope this helps

Ya I do and I have braces. The only thing is sometimes if you have something with acid (like pop) and u brush without rinsing you can rub it into the teeth and leave uneven spots on your teeth but I woulnd't worry too much about this. Hope I can help

I would say that you can drink it but it would be a must to brush and rinse afterwards. My daughter had braces and she did not take care of her teeth when they were taken off they had white plaque buildup. It was awful. Long story short. She is now 27 and has had to have all her teeth pulled. So take care of those teeth. They sure can't be replaced.

Soda is bad for you even without them. I'd avoid foods that could easily get caught in them. The problem is, the soda (especially coke) could get in under the braces and start to rot away your teeth.
It's the same with fake but permanent fangs. You need to take them out or the food or liquid could get in. I'd avoid things like coke, and go for less acidic things such as creamy soda or lemonade.
But really you shoud see the person who put the braces in and ask if it's okay.

When you drink soda, don't forget to brush your teeth just after ! That's the best. You can drink soda set, but be careful.

you "can" drink soda when you have braces, that is, you have the ability to do it. however, you should definitely not do so, and it is highly recommended to stay clear of anything with too much sugar overall. the sugars will eat away at your bonding of the bracket and the cement of your bands. i see it happen all too often.
