He's only home once every so often, and even when he is, all he ever does it do his work, read the news, or check the stocks. I used to hug him and all that, but now I feel that he is a stranger I don't know. What should I do about this?

Well first off ignore the young ladies on this sight who are calling males mommy's boys (which is code for dump both of your parents and possibly your whole family).

What do you like to do and what does he enjoy doing besides reading the newspaper? Conversation is the key to any good relationship and someone has to start it...doesn't always have to be dad. If you are having problems getting that started grab a newspaper and sit right down next to him....possibly then a conversation will spark. Suggest something fun for the family to do.

Please, please go tell him how you are feeling. He may be so caught up in the work stuff that he is missing out on something much more important - his relationship with you.
