I am a 48 year old and have long hair, should women of my age have it cut shorter?

I LOVE older women with long grey hair. It makes them look so sexy, and very different from the millions of women who cut it short because they're tired of dealing with it. Long hair, even if it's white hair, just makes them look soo elegant to me. I can see how much they still appreciate their own beauty. I love it.

I have long hair and I love my hair long, but I am a bit younger than you, however when I was in America I noticed that there was a lot of women in their 40s and 50+ who had long hair. At first it looked strange but then I thought, why not. Why is society so ageist and makes women feel that they should do certain things with their hair at a certain age. You can curl your hair and make it look like it has more body, that looks really nice long curly hair, I have heard that long hair is ageing on an older woman, but I feel it is only true if the hair is straggly and grey. But well kept non greasy hair is nice long on older women.

depends on what type of face you have. On some women shorter hair makes them look younger. I'd ask my hair stylist what they think before deciding to cut it all off. No. Have your hair the length you like it. Try a short wig to see if you like short hair. It takes a long time to grow long hair.

there is no right or wrong answer, it just totally depends on the person. only thing is if your hair is gray or turning gray. I don't think it looks good to have long hair and wear it down if it's graying. I'd cut it short if that's the case. (Like alittle above your shoulders and style it cute)

Oh please keep it long! There is a woman in my college class that is about 50-60 and she has super long, wavy gray hair and its so GORGEOUS! I mean, every single lady over 30 cuts her hair short, and i dont like short hair at all, i think long is beautiful and unique!!

It depends on how you keep your hair. Does your hair style go well with your facial features? I like long hair because you can do more with it. But short hair is nice as well.

shorter hair is easier to manage... especially if you have a busy lifestyle. but deciding whether to cut your hair short or keeping it long is up to you.
