You've got a happy kitty!
Their sounds are kind of the equivilent of dogs wagging their tails. Some cats are more vocal than others. Many cats will just rub up against you and love on you, but may not make noises. My cat will give her approval by voice as well as rubbing.

Yes my two cats roll around on the floor making funny noises when they are in a good mood. It's really cute. But I have talkative cats, I don't know if other people do too.

i cant lie on the floor with out my cat trying to groom my face out of existence puring there happy rubbing on you happy meowing and rubbing feed them (gimme a call ill lend you my cat you will no longer need to shower)
