What I find strange is that the last time God was really active in everyones lives was 2000 years ago. Today he's kind of an absentee father. When was the last time he did something major, like locusts or burning bushes?

And please don't tell me something like "God does things everyday in little ways in peoples lives". I know he does. But what happened to the Grand Scale things of the Old Testament? Why no more of that?

I don't believe this stuff but...

Joseph Smith claimed that God and Jesus visited him, that angels gave him golden plates (he translated the Book of Mormon from these), that John the Baptist appeared and gave him the lesser priesthood, that Peter, James & John appeared and gave him the greater priesthood, that Elijah appeared and gave him the keys to this dispensation, etc.

Of course, it's been over 150 years since all that excitement and not much else has happened over there...they've become very mainstream "love your family" from their charismatic beginnings. They still talk about visitations, healings, toungues, etc. but not in the literal sense that J.S. claimed.

Remember the tsunami in Thailand, that's him. He did that tsunami thing it's not because he likes to spread disaster, he did it cause many wicked people were living there. All those earthquakes, storm, hurricane, flood all those things are God's power you just don't see it yet.

We have the prophets and the healers. Most of em work small time so aren't really known well. I've had Bible studies with them and have witnessed healings. Also, he said he saw powerful prophets who could raise the dead back to life. Through Jesus' name of course.:)
