RO water will actually be much more pure than regular "filtered" water. RO involved forcing tap water through various membranes to separate out any sort of particulates in the water, which include water hardness, chlorine, nitrates, etc. Regular filtered water won't go this far.

I live in an area that has very hard water and is pretty liberal in it's treatment standards, so there is a definite taste in the water. I originally tried just filtering the water over a porous activated carbon, sponge and screen filtering system, which didn't help too much, and when suggested to try an RO filter, it made a huge difference in the drinking water quality. I also use the RO water for my relatively soft water, low pH aquarium (as it filters out the alkiline substances).

Obiously, there are different qualities and types of RO filters, and some even come with oxidation and UV treatments, which purify even further. So, this can get your water very close to 100% pure (pure water being different from filtered or distilled water). They are quite a bit pricier, tho', but the filter media doesn't need to be changed as often and over time, will probably cost less than regular filters whose media has to be changed more often to remain effective.

Reverse Osmosis is a process to purify tap water. It can be very dangerous if not fully completed, or if consumed before completion of the process. Purified water is also just filtered tap water. It is best to drink mountain spring water.

what happens in reverse osmosis is the solvent tat is water gets seperated from solute via semipermeable membrane wich is porous in nature and the process is driven by pressure .depending upon the pore size the particles get seperated if the pore size is high many of the dust and impure particles are permitted along with the water and if the pore size is small the separation is effective but not necessary tat it is completely pure

You can fix it easily by simply drinking tap or bottled water.
