Does anyone know if exercise burns fat and calories and cholestorol? My weight always stays the same--it never goes above or below 230. I push buggies at a grocery store as a 32-hour per week job and I believe that could be considered exercise ("paid exercise" as I call it). Is there some reason why I never seem to gain or lose any weight? I eat a lot, but never seem to gain a pound. Why?

By the way, my height is 6 feet 1 inch. I am assuming that 230 lbs is normal for this height.

Jogging for 1 hour will make you lose 8 calories. Don't eat food with high cholesterol, carbohydrates and calories(they make people fat) like a chocolate/mocha shake, hamburger and others. look in the nurtitional facts/table to know.

Unless you're walking without stopping, that exercize doesn't count...walking at a brisk pace for a meaningful and uninterrupted period, even of 15 minutes is helpful, but short bursts or "moseying" is just working. Better than sitting, but not really exercising...it's like housework. It feels like it should count, but it's a pretty normal activity.

Exercize burns ONLY calories. Fat contains calories, but will only be called upon for their stored calories once other calorie sources are exhausted (ie, the last meal you ate, which still has its sustanance running through your bloodstream, where it can be accessed). Cholesteral only has 2 factors: heredity and food choices. Skinny people can easily have high cholesterol. It's a higher risk for the obese only because the kinds of food that can make someone overweight tend to generally also be those that cause higher cholesterol than genetics would give a person.

Also, age is a really big factor, because your metabolism becomes more efficient as we age, meaning that we can get the same amount of work out of our food while using fewer calories. This is why it gets harder to lose as we age.

You might be eating a lot of calories. Learn how to count calories and keep a written log of everything you eat. Losing weight is all mathematical. It can be very challenging if you are not in a managed program. Maybe you should try weight watchers, or get a dietician to monitor your diet and exercise. Your job may not be as much exercise as you think. When losing weight you will hit plateaus where you don't lose any more weight. When this happens you have to increase distance or duration of exercise, and/or reduce daily calorie intake.

Yes, doing exercise not only redues yours calories/cholestrol but it keeps you healthy physically & mentally. Pushing buggies may reduce your fats and strengthens of your some part of body but it doesn't cosidered as Complate Exercise. Complete Exercise involves all body movements but it may depands upon what part u like to look big or small as its urs choice. You can gain weight & loose depanding upon 3 factors.
1-exercise 2-diet 3- digestive system 4-Genetic ( considere it less but it may be the reason)

If you want to lose weight, you want to do aerobic exercise. Pushing cart isn't really aerobic exercise. It's more anaerobic exercise because you're pushing heavy things, so you're building muscles.

Just remember that muscles weigh more than fat, so you may be losing fat, but gaining muscles. Since muscles are heavier than fat, that might explain why you might not be losing weight.
