Ok, let's organize this:
1) I'm pretty sure that that is enough liqour (approx. 3 gallons?) to kill an adult elephant. Let's say your buddy has the tolerance of an entire AA group, he still would have traded in his Blood Alcohol Content level for a Alcohol Blood Content at about shot #150. By the way, you cannot stay alive after your BAC gets to 1%.
2) If you went to a bar for this marathon of alcoholism, and this strapping lad had just plopped himself down at a bar stool and said " I'll take 196 of those..." that would have probably run him about $980 (for cheap vodka) to $1470 (for decent liqour), without tip. Doesn't sound likely unless your a rapper or Jake Plummer. Especially since I don't think there is even a bartender in Cancun who would sell someone more that 20 shots at one time.
3) Assuming that this event took place outside of an establishment, that means this guy just went and drank up 5 bottles of liqour. If this was a party, what the heck was everyone else drinking? Doesn't seem likley there either. Also, someone might have noticed him sitting there and actaully finishing the "99 shots of vodka on the wall" song.
4) Lets assume all this is true and we are in the presence of the second coming of Ernast Hemminway, take him out one night and just casually do about 10 shots in one sitting. When he starts getting woozy, make sure he knows that he can take 186 more and youknow he's faking it. Eventually he'll give up the truth...or die trying to hold his secret in. (you might want to stop him after 21...)
5)The most I ever saw drank in one sitting was a shot for shot contest that I participated in high school. 4 guys, 2 handles of plastic container vodka. 1 guy dropped out after 11, another after 15, and the final two made it to 21 before everyone stopped it. Not a fun night, I wouldn't reccomend it.

Well first of all that is BS for sure...196 shots...most shots are 1.5 ounces, so basically 300 ounces. 128 ounces in a gallon, so 2.5 gallons of hard liquor...in by "one night" he means like from 7;00 pm til 3:00 am, I would say no way, he'd be passed out and in teh hospital getting his tummy pumped for sure. I used to be a heavy drinker and over a 6 hr period would do like 10 or 15 shots, but I would be crawling/stumbling drunk...lol

I've watched 3-4 people split a 2 liter of tequila between them and they were so hammered they couldn't remember their names, they couldn't even walk. That would be somewhere in the ballpark of 60 shots between 3-4 people. I don't think it would be possible for someone to take more than 20-25 shots and still be alert enough to keep drinking.

In high school, a friend of mind drank an entire 7-11 Big Gulp bottle of whiskey. I do not recommend this, as he had alcohol poisoning, and had to go to the emergency room. When he woke up with a catheter in his penis, he knew he had crossed the line and would never go back. He was extremely lucky, as he stopped breathing 3 separate times that night.

A bottle of Polar Ice Vodka, 2 bottles of wine and a couple shots of tequilla all within 3 days. He was feeling it for about 2 weeks aftter that.

It was by myself. I called it Three mile island night as that is when it happened. we all thought we were going to die (even though we were well out of range) That night at the age of 17 I drank the following; a half fifth of jack daniels, ahalf fifth of Southern Comfort a Half fifth of gin, a half fifth of vodka and a case of beer. also smoked a 1/4 ounce of pot, took a hit of Crystal meth (back then it was clean) and took a couple of lines of cocaine. How the Hell I made it to school the next day was a miracle. They say you can sometimes drink yourself sober so i guess that is what I did. And no this is no exagerration. The 70's were crazy days.
But the worst I ever did was 20 hits of two-way window pane acid. I slept on a couch for 3 days and got a nickname "The Dead Guy!!! Please Nobody ever get that stupid unless you want suicide!!! (i was not looking for suicide, just being stupid)VERY STUPID

The most alcohol I've ever witnessed being consumed was by me and I do not exagerate a 1 litter bottle of everclear in 6 hours by myself.

I hv come across drunkards who don't look that way in real lives but they can drink litres continually. I hv seen a group of three taking about 6 litres of rum,brandy,whisky in one night's drink.
