This is kind of a wide question. I had got carbon monoxide poisoning about 8 years ago. Still to this day I suffer from the different things think are attributed to this. On a daily basis, I have chest pain, rapid heart beat and mild confusion. Im wandering if these are resinating factors from my experiences. I never saw a doctor about it at the time because I didn't know anything about its long term effect. How long does it stay in your blood? For life? Should I see a doctor about some kind of treatment, or is it dead in the water at this point? Any help would be great

Your symptoms are most likely coming from something other than the past exposure to carbon monoxide.

Carbon monoxide binds pretty much irreversibly to the hemoglobin in your red blood cells. However, your red blood cells have a life span of only about 120 days, so four months from now, even the youngest red blood cell you have presently will have been replaced.

Go see a doctor as soon as you can.

I don't think it stays in your blood, but lack of oxygen in your body from a couple min of carbon monoxide poisoning, can cause long term problems.

You need to see a doctor. The carbon monoxide would be long gone from your system. You need a proper diagnosis.
