Zone Alarm works well for awhile and then one day out of the blue it has problems and never works right again. Sometimes it starts messing up your computer. It's happened to more than just me. This is why I stopped using it. Have you tried AVG free? You can also get AVG free spy-ware. It protects your computer well. I'm not sure about the firewall though. Best Wishes to you.

Did you uninstall ZoneAlarm or have you disabled its automatic start up using any "Start-up Manager" tools? If this is the case, just run the program and undo the changes that you made to your start-up list.

I would say it has been blocked by some piece of malware.
You can try typing MSCONFIG in the "run" portion of your start menu. Then go to the startup tab and see if it is checked. If it is not, check it and restart.
If it still does not load, or does not allow you to check it, then you should run a thorough virus and spyware scan.

double click Zone Alarm icon, go to 'Overview' then 'Preferences' and make sure 'load ZoneAlarm at startup' box is checked.

might be disable buy yourself a router more safe then software firewalls, dlink 604
