No the girl doesnt like the guy. She just gave him the dreaded "LJBF" line (Lets Just Be Friends). Unless your knowledgable in the field of pick-up (like me), thats the nail in the coffin.

I'm guessing you told her that you like her a whole lot and her answer was that she just wanted to be friends? In that case, the fact that you can't date anyone is really inconsequential.
If a girl says she wants something to grow into a good friendship without knowing how you feel about her, I think she might be up to something. If she says that after you tell her you are not interested in her, I still think she might be up to something.
But if she tells you that after you tell her you really like her, well then she probably is not interested in a romantic relationship.
It's the thing about not dating anyone that makes this confusing. If a guy told me he liked me a lot, but then said he couldn't date anyone, I certainly would not put my feelings on the line for him. She might have done the same thing. Maybe she does like you, but doesn't want you to know since you are unavailable. Tell her you're available, and then see what happens.

Well, you may ignore the meaning of 'E'. Maybe they'll be good pals, but someday, they'll definitely grow closer to each other and end up in marrying each other, if they want this friendship to grow into a good friendship.
