In about 5 or 6 years, you'll look back on this and realize how immature you were, and how mean you were to give your mom a hard time about that car.
When I was younger, my dad had an old VW Beetle that he LOVED, and I was so embarrassed to be seen in it. I HATED that car, and never understood why he loved it so much. Now that I'm older, I realize that, for one, we couldn't exactly afford a new car, and for another, that car was a great little car with a lot of character.
Give your mom a break, and be happy you have a car at all. A '96 Jeep, no matter what the model, is better than a LOT of cars. Also, keep in mind that you're not the one with the driver's license OR the means to pay for a new car. It's definitely your mom's right to buy/lease whatever car she likes, since it's her money and her life.

Well first off, it's not yours so wanting a new one is not your decision. I'm going out a limb and guessing it is a Jeep Cherokee and you don't like the boxy look of it. Seeing that you are only 13 you have a few more years of driving around in it so why not make the best of it. Try washing and waxing the thing on a regular basis, clean the interior, throw out any trash that is left in it and shampoo the seats and carpets. I'm sure mom could be talked into seat covers if you ask nice. Get a nice smelling air freshener for it and shine up the dash with Armour All. Mom will appreciate your help and you should feel better about driving around in it.

I suggest when you get old enough to get a job you should save money to get the vehicle you want. You might be saving for a while though bc newer vehicles are a lot of money. We were approved for a 2007 Chevy Avalanche but when we found out the insurance alone was gonna be 280 bucks we said forget it. We ended up getting a 2005 instead. Cars are not cheap and maybe that is another reason she isn't getting another one. I bet you don't hate when you want her to take you somewhere.

Well wanting a new truck is all part of growing up. Wanting your mothers "truck" to be bigger or smaller is all part of being a man. As you grow you will experience a whole new range of emotions and feelings....being such it is important that you deal with these emotions in a good and healthy way. Wanting your mom to get a new "truck" may be beneficial in the short term but in the long run that "truck" will last a long time.
I hope i answered your question.

Being 13 years old I don't think that it's much of your concern what vehicle your mother chooses to drive. I would imagine that she would love to have a new vehicle, as most people would, but reality is that new vehicles are expensive. If you want her to have a new vehicle so bad get a job and help her pay for one.

Ok-What if you had no family vehicle? At your age you can't even imagine that, unless you wind up homeless from some trauma in the family or an act of God like Katrina, that wiped out homes, schools, jobs, cars, and even skate boards! Count your blessings!!

Let your mom make that decision. When you are old enough to drive and buy tour own car, do so. Until then, concentrate on your homework, not the impression your mom's truck is going to make on your friends

jeeps are awesome offroad and winter vehicles, you're 13 and have no idea what it takes to buy a new car, especially have no idea how much work it takes to pay for one, be grateful your mom has a vehicle, get sum friends to talk to instead of trying to initiate conversations online with strangers

Its not your car!!! Not to be rude, but get over it----thats a nice vehicle, and youre not paying for it.....
and it could be worse...when I was about your age, I was brought to high school (I think I was a freshman) in a huge dump truck, by my dad.....right to the front of the school.

Hey it least you have one... look at it this way, I HAD one, then it broke and I paid a dork mechanic transmission shop to put in a new transmission (the thing that shifts gears) part of the engine. and they lied and didn't put one in at all. Then it kept on breaking
I've spent 5,000.00 so far and now have to sue them. So like I was saying, It least your mom doesn't make you take the city bus everywhere or worse, a ten speed bike with you on the handle bars!
