Valentine's Day is actually a great opportunity for the single guy. Just ask your female friends what they're doing for Valentine's Day. The majority will say "My husband and I are going to Frankenmuth" or "My boyfriend and I are going to . . . "
There will be a small number who will say "I don't have a Valentine" or "Nothing".
These are the ones you immediately hit on.
Come on guy, take a clue.

Don't let it get to you! I know a lot of people who get down on "Singles Awareness Day" uh I mean, Valentines Day. But the truth is a lot of people are single. You're not the only one. So why be depressed about it? There's always next year. I don't have a valentine this year, and honestly I'm not bothered by it. I plan on hanging out with my friends, and if I must, I'll buy myself some delicious valentine's candy anyways! Haha. But seriously, don't be depressed. It's just one day. It's really not a big deal. I hope you manage to have fun anyways!

Well... why do we have Christmas trees and Easter baskets and so on... I'm sure the ORIGINAL reason for such holidays was of good intent, however we as a society have become so materialistic, most of the "holidays" have become stressfull and depressing for a great many of us. Many of us who DO have someone resent the "expectation" that more than any other day, this one stupid day is THE one you MUST proclaim your feelings. You are right, it is truly a stupid holiday. Think of it this way - IT'S ONLY ONE OF 365 DAYS - and just having someone does not magically make anything better no matter what day it is.

that's actually the first Valentine's day that i'm not unmarried yet regrettably i trust thoroughly lonely via actual shown actuality that I surely have a lengthy distance relationship..even nonetheless we are purely 3 hours away there is not something worse than feeling lonely and purely with the flexibility to work out that man or woman once a month in basic terms sucks.

We have valentines
because
we live in a greedy place AKA capitalism
its just another scam
sure its nice to have a date here and there
but that day is like any other
but it has turned into a monopolistic game
by trying to buy something big or else your a loser
so trust me
don't support the holiday
love is in the air everyday

It depresses me too. But I try not to be selfish and think that other people have a boyfriend/girlfriend. I try to think that valentines isn't about love in a relationship, it is also love in a friendship. So i go somewere with my friends

I'll be your Cyber-Valentine!! (not that it'd make you feel better)
However, I say that Valentine's Day is nothing but GLORIFIED B.S.
Let's be honest, it's nothing but a money-making franchise during which people buy cards, flowers, and chocolates (which will help rot their teeth).
DONT FEEL BAD, or DEPRESSED. I AGREE--- We dont need this Holiday.

Because card, jewelry, and candy companies pay for advertising to brainwash everyday people into thinking that one day a year they NEED to be with someone and they NEED to get tokens of love. But don't you think loved ones should show their love year-round?

Get a valentine then. Doesn't have to be a person you date or anything. Maybe a friend!
Good luck,
