Haven't heard that one yet. But why would you want Vista anyway?

I think someone is pulling your chain. How can Microsoft know it is illegal? What would happen if they deleted a file that was not illegal by mistake?

Every rumor I have heard about backdoors such as this turn out to be just that...a rumor. If a backdoor existed then anyone could use it..including hackers and Microsoft won't take the chance something like that would happen with Vista since they are trying to make the most secure version of Windows to date.

Well, I'm afraid that you are grossly misinformed. What do you mean by illegal files like music or videos? Do you mean something like child pornography? Because that is illegal in most US states and other countries. Otherwise, I really can't imagine what you mean by illegal...

Now, maybe you are really asking about unlicensed movies/music. In that case, it would be a major step towards the grave if Microsoft went as far as that to implement protections that drastic against unlicensed media on a home computer.

First off, most people have tons of unlicensed music or videos on their computers that they are often completely unaware of. Second, the big concern over Windows and MS software in the past 5 years has been security. Essentially, they have been under fire for it, by hackers and critics alike. To implement something even close to what you are suggesting would be suicide for the company.

I don't know where you hear such nonsense...but there is no truth to it.

No. That is not true at all.. Microsoft would be up for so many lawsuits, even Bill Gates does not have that kind of money!

Don't get paranoid. If you have legal programs then there's nothing to worry about
