Black color. I did it once and I had a "permanent' moustache for 3 days before it faded. Very funny!!

I cannot wait 3 days when I have an important meeting or function the next day.

Serious replies only please.

They make products for exactly that. Have you tried Just For Men Color Gel? or one of the other mustache & beard coloring products?

If you are very careful you could use a ladies hair dye. Either get a highlighting brush, use a toothbrush or something similar to apply. Brush it on the outer layer of your mustache. What I mean by that is take a comb and raise your mustache hairs up, brush the dye just on the outer/ends of your mustache...don't dab it into your mustache and face. (that is what would cause your skin to turn) If that doesn't provide enough gray coverage for you it won't hurt to do it again and you'll have enough hair dye to repeat. This time do it the same way as above but the last 10 minutes kind of massage the dye into the rest of your mustache with gloved fingers. That way the dye isn't on your facial skin as long and shouldn't discolor your face underneath. But really, I don't think you would notice if your face underneath was discolored a little if your mustache isn't super thin.

Be careful not to get it on your skin around your mustache. One way to prevent it from dying your skin around it is to put vaseline on your skin, then apply the dye to your mustache. That way if the hair dye did accidentally get on your skin, it wouldn't discolor it, you could just wipe it off when you rinse the dye out of your mustache. Beauty salons do this all of the time around women's faces/ears.

You could also try an eyebrow pencil to sort of color it in, although I think that might look very cheesy and not so good.

I'm wondering...why do you want to color your mustache? My husband has brown hair and his mustache is almost completely white...he looks sexier than ever to me.

RE:
How do you color or dye your graying/whitish MOUSTACHE and beards without coloring your skin.?

They make coloring kits just for facial hair so make sure you don't use one intended for the head. Those kits normally(but not always) come with a small fine toothed comb. You can also use an eyelash comb when putting the color on. The small fine toothed comb allows you to apply the coloring only where you need it to go without getting it all over your face. If you aren't sure you can hold the comb well enough to keep from touching your face you can apply a small, very thin, amount of petroleum jelly to the skin around the facial hair. It will keep the color from touching your skin so it can't change the skins color. Just be sure not to get the jelly on the hair or it won't change color either.Remember as you apply the color to work slowly and use small amounts of color so it doesn't end up in blobs. If you just slowly comb it through your hair as if you were just combing the hair itself then you shouldn't have any problems.

Put vasoline around the area u don't colored. Then use a permant
dye and color, pick one one shade darker than your hair color,
because most mens beards are darker than the color on top
of your head, Good Luck!

vasaline or pawpaw ointment on the exposed skin around the hair before colouring it then wash it off AFTER you've removed the entire colour will stop your skin from turning into mo-town!

You use a comb and brush it through very carefully. It might be easier if you have someone else do it for you, then again it might just be easier to do it yourself.
