The Oxford Names Companion, by Patrick Hanks et al. is an excellent source of information. It runs to 1264 pages and deals with surnames, given names and place names. The section on given names is 203 pages long. It probably costs about £25 new, but I got my copy at a discount bookshop for £5.99 Failing that, every public library should have two or three books in the reference section on the origin of names.
The entry for Claudia says that it is from Latin, being the feminine form of Claudius.

I agree, Claudia is a beautiful name, but no senior it's a Latin name. Don't forget that more than one Roman emperor bore the name Claudius.
Continuing with my effort yo answer your question, some names have a Latin origin Caesar Julius Marcellus Agrippina, etc
A second group of names have a Germanic origin the are all those names ended in BERT, RICH, FRIED, ILDA, ILDO, HARD,
And the 3th large group is from Jewish ancestry and these are perhaps the most familiar in Western Countries
These names are taken from the Bible. Mary Joseph, John, Peter, Paul. Maria, Sarah, Esther etc
I hope this answer will be useful for you
