If you can afford another, then all the better.
However, there are a few anti-virus freeware available that you might want to install in your PC to help you secure it.

When you install most anti-virus programs they often automatically install and enable their real-time monitors. Running two or more real-time anti-virus monitors at the same time is very likely to cause a conflict. That conflict could result in error messages, crashes of the anti-virus programs, or other types of failure.

It is..But dear friend, Why to spoil the system by installing 2 programs which we can make it safe by just one? Further your computer will take longer time to scan for each file/program/mail etc. Why to make it dull with 2s...hummnn?
Get just the best Anti-virus/ Spy-ware and make it more efficient and fast.
All the best.

you should only run one anti virus program at a time to avoid compatability problems, two programs running together will cause false readings and may even let viruses through

They can be a conflict and your system can even crash in extreme cases. It will in no way make your system safer! Just install one good AV and upgrade it to provide good security
