I dont know about the Home school life. But i give some points about this question. I don't know what other home schools are like but I go to a school on my computer. It' great because the teachers have more time for you and you can talk to your teachers on the internet and everything and there aren't any other kids bothering you. Also, you get to make up your own schedule. I don't even have a schedule; I just do whatever I need to do before it's due. So there's like no homework; you do everything at once. And you get to take breaks whenever you want. You can visit a link in Source box.

You and for that matter, everyone else should understand that when you take a kid out of a school they are unhappy because they lose Federal funding, which is why they take role so don't expect them to cooperate with you when YOU are denying them some extra money by keeping your kid home. And no, you can't apply for that Federal money, you have to be a state run school.

You can get help with homeschooling at local libraries, bookstores and on line. There are free aids and things you buy, like whole programs for a given year.

Here is a list of some homeschool support groups in West Virginia: http://homeschooling.about.com/od/wvsg/Support_Groups_Associations_West_Virginia.htm Contact as many as seem potentially useful to you! Also check out the support group lists link at the top of the page.

If you don't know the laws yet, you can check this out http://www.nhen.org/leginfo/detail.asp?StateCode=West+Virginia .

A support group is really the best place to go to find out the specifics of what you need to do in WV and also great on getting a start in homeschooling.

Try some of the Homeschooling email lists on Yahoo. They are excellent, and they run the gamut from
Religion-Based Homeschooling to Unschooling.
Don't expect help from your school district. They have no interest in a child that they do not receive Federal funding for.
You can homeschool!
Good Luck.

Email networking@chewv.org
Ask for a contact person in your county, or perhaps a list of local support groups.

You could also sign up at www.theSwap.com and ask for help on the forums. They are a group of about 400 homeschoolers, very pleasant and helpful!

I had a difficult time in high school with being sick, lots of depression and mental instability, I also recently found out that I'm ADHD,

My helpful public school teacher told me about Novanet which was HORRiBLE!

Then she signed me up for NEXUS Learning Online, NC's Wake County Public Sch.Sys. provided it, financially supported.

Possibly WV might provide it? It's based in New Jersey.

The only reason I'm here today; is because I finally graduated through Nexus Learning: an online school that WORKS WITH public schools; through
-online scheduled classes; times that work for you,
-"class" held in chatroom-like windows via internet
-everyone types or talks on microphone
-teacher is in charge of who can talk; less disruptive
-secure; students are unable to private message other students
-everyone hears everyone through voice chat via microphone
-chatroom-classroom has simulated chalkboard-whiteboard
-anyone can use tools to write-draw-highlight-circle on board
-teacher can post worksheets on board
-teacher can use visual-aids on board
-teacher can post viewable; functioning websites on board
-icons for every person's status
-similar icons for a smile, applause, and raise-hand with numbers of which hand was raised first, second, third
-homework posted, completed; submitted on website with student login and personalized work space with email, grades

It was very awesome, classes and all, I still had the option of walking for my diploma with my friends from our base-school

The teachers work well to collaborate with students and parents

If you have no computer, internet connection, or microphone they can provide it

They hold classes for very many valuable classes.

And very supportive attendance reminders and tech support, by phone...they will call if student doesn't show in class.

Tutorial Training is mandatory, but easy. It just has a teacher to help show you tools to use in class, then make sure your mic and speakers work.

Good Luck!

These seem to be a good resource of information. The first one explains about homeschooling in your area and the second is a homeschooling guide.
