I have a mac. I've searched online to find downloadable conversion software, but they seem always to be Windows programs. I have a number of .wmv files I'd like to be able to play in iTunes/Quicktime.

The easiest thing to do is to play them with Mplayer, which has a download for OS X ( http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html ). Videolan Client also has a player for OS X ( http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ )
