Do you have a Green Card, and an exemption to stay in the United States once you have graduated. If not, go home and apply for U.S. residency in a legal manner. There are over a million people at any one time trying to obtain residency visas to the United States.
If you can legally work in the United States, apply for a job just like the rest of us who have lived here all of our life have to do. Why should you be special?

It's hard to get one after graduating yes, if the international student was studying under a student visa since the visa would expire sometime after the visa expires and the would have to go back home. Instead of waiting untill they graduate, international students should be applying and looking for employment BEFORE they graduate. This can be just going out and applying for jobs or by going through the school (often schools have a employment office for helping students find jobs while or after they graduate) I'd highly recommend that an international student talks to an advisor about job placement. My understanding is that under a student visa an international student can't work so it's important to talk to an advior about that and what things they can do, such as voluneer jobs and what not that may lead to career opening. Which is also another suggestion is while contacing places for employment for after you graduate (since some companies will sponsor the student and get them a visa for after they graduate) it's good to try to do volunteer jobs, work study-like and those sort of positions with companies that may lead to career opportunities. Mainly the reason why it's hard again, to get a job after graduating is since the visa the international student may have is usually for education and will expire sometime after they graduate and dosen't always allow them to work which makes it hard to find a job.

It depends on your circumstances and your degree. "Edward" can't even spell-don't listen to him.
