idk if i should go solo or start a band. i really like to sing, but it would also be cool if i was in a band. but i think it might be better if i was solo.. help!

Depends.
Can you work with people?
Then get a band together. Of like minded musicians.
Can you not work with people?
Can you play another instrument other then your vocal chords?
Can you come up with a half way decent lyric and a some what catchy tune?
Then take it solo.
Either way, you are going to need a band. Having a band or going solo is just a matter of whom has the creative power.
In a band, the entire group will have at least one thing to say about how the album will sound. How a song will go. What the song is about. The fashion of the band. The way you guys will play live. Where and when...
Being solo, you make all the decisions.
I am a solo musician. I prefer it only because I am a control freak. People in most any line of work hate working with people like me. I have to have it this way just because. Not to say another persons idea is bad or stupid. It is just an art form I prefer to have creative control over. If I want to do a hip hop album after a "disco" album then I can go for it. If I am in a band, I have to convince everyone else to go with me.
And the fact that in America (at least) bands don't stick together that long. If I were to get a band together. I would want it to last at least 20 - 40 years. But most American bands (if not all) fall apart eventually. Because of $$$.

Start a band or sign up to be a lead singer of an existig band. Unless you can play an instrument of your own (piano or guitar) and you sing your own songs, you will need a band to help you with the music. You can't possibly go solo if you can't play an instrument and you don't have any songs to sing.
You have to be extremely confident if you want to go solo and you better have good materials to sing with. Recording companies will not waste their time trying to find songs for you as there are a lot of unsigned bands with their own songs knocking on their door. You are going to look like an American Idol contestant or a karaoke singer trying to get a recording deal if you don't present yourself professionally.
You can always go solo later once you get established.

i think starting a band is better. if you were in a band, you'd probably have more fun. sometimes, its fun to play/sing music with other people. i, myself was once trying to be a solo artist, but it didnt work out so i joined a band. much more fun. [:

i think u should go solo because that way easier that way no one in your band with feel left out and you dont need to do tryouts or you guys wont have band problems. but do what your heart says
