Give it time

2007-02-10 17:20:41 · answer #1 · answered by zen522 7 · 0 1

Give yourself a swift shake, then a talking to. Unrequited love is very romantic but an absolute waste of your time. No one gives a damn about your feelings (in this regard) except yourself. So pick yourself up, dust yourself off, go out and find someone else. There are so many worthy people out there. The trick is to find them.
If all else fails imagine the object of your love laughing like a hyena.
If you can manage to see it with your mind's eye and because the mind cannot differentiate imagined pictures from real images you see with your eyes, it should do the trick. This is so, ask any psychologist.

i know its hard but you have to keep busy. the more stuff you do then your mind will be elsewhere focusing on different things which means less time that you're thinking about the person. Trying to keep a friendship going with that person is tough though so i suggest that while you're trying to get over being in love with someone, don't talk to them until you're ready. Hope this helps! I know how you feel, staying busy really helped me in the end to move on....

im in your EXACT situation.
and being there i know that all the pictures you and your partner took, or things that you two may have shared are still hanging around. correct?

yeah.
so what you need to do is, not throw them out, but box them up and put them away.

gradually move on.
if they love someone else maybe they werent meant for just you.
or maybe they'll comeback to you later on in life, you really never know when it comes to love.

but [[ if you're still in school]] go meet new people,
go to parties with friends, and hang out with guys [[ or girls ]] you've never REALLY hung out with.

find someone who makes you smile and laugh.
and someone that no matter what, they are gonna be the one you call to cheer you up.

just be patient and let things flow, don't be upset.
get out and have fun..
you'll have a lifetime trying to forget them, but you can at least try.

Just move on, if that person doesn't appreciate you for who you are, they just don't fit with you really, you'd be better off looking elsewhere, instead of just moping around over somebody who doesn't care about you the way you want to be cared about. That's weak.

If you find out, let me know, man.

I am still trying to let go of one of my friends whom I wanted to get close to, but now I'm losing him. I don't want to elaborate, but there is definitely no chance now.

I guess you have to find some reason that you need to get over him. Surround yourself with absolutes, and this uncertainty will dissolve. At least, that's what I'm trying to do. You don't have to let go completely, but, to some degree, you have to move on.

You walk away with your head up, understanding that, although it hurts now, you deserve someone who loves you and you need to respect yourself.

Eventually, but it takes time and you may never forget it.

They say that time heals all wounds, but in my experience it just teaches you to live with them.

Good luck, move on.
