And they mislead away from the supposed 'true' religion, the general assumption, from what I've seen so far, is that Satan created them, to trick us. However if they are created by Satan...why are there so many religions that teach respect, kindness, love and fairness, where the evil are always punished and the good are rewarded, ie. Karma. Is this really something Satan would do? And if your answer will be "Yes, because its not Christianity"...then your point is pretty damn invalid.

Satan is a deceiver - - the father of all lies. And he has always tried to mimic God and always will, ..... thus, there are other religions that teach kindness, love, etc. However, Satan will never teach that Christ was the Son of God (God in the flesh) and that He died for our sins. Why would he? He wants us to turn from the one true God, even if he has to do it through deception.

From the Christian viewpoint, all non-Christian religions are wrong because they are not teaching the gospel.

Learning about other religions can be beneficial. They teach about history and why certain actions happened because of the people's beliefs.

If I wasn't going to be a Christian, I wouldn't worship a statue or some other image.

I believe if something is teaching its followers to do good, this is definately better then a negative action.

Satan will do what ever is possible to lead the children of God astray. This would include non-Christians religions as well as some preacher not saying the truth.

Ashton,

Good question. Thats a weak answer "because its not Christianity"---I agree! And yes that is something Satan could do. ANY deviation from the truth is by defintion a falsehood. It can come in any form. After all, haven't we(guys) all fallen for that "sweet little girl" in school that RIPPED our hearts out??? How can evil come from a face like that?

Dont ever forget, Truth by DEFINTION is exclusive. It is the same reason you cannot be at the same place at the same time. And yes, Buddhism is peaceful, but you dont need God to do that. Its actually QUITE a cleaver way to do it if you ask me........

It is just like satan to do that. Half truth and half lies. He decieves people even if it is a little bit of truth in it, and then people automaticaly think it is the right thing when satan has other plans which involve lying about the truth, and he will make lies sound like truth. Do not be disceived, satan is out to get as many souls away from God as possible because he knows his time is coming to an end. The truth is Jesus, who died for all mankind. And you can only get to Heaven through Jesus. Mhammad cannot save you, Buddah cannot save you, Hinduism cannot save you, new age crap cannot save you, nor any other false religion. Christ is the only way to the Father who will Jude the earth for all its sins. Who's side are you on? Chose Jesus and you chose life.

It would make sense that in order to make other religions seem believable that they would contain similar principles. If all other religions were completely different and off-base from what is true, there'd be no real choice. It'd be clear to everyone that Christianity were truth, just like it's clear that the sky is blue. There'd be no reason to think the sky was orange. The whole idea behind Christianity is that it's a choice. If all the other choices are completely ridiculous, there'd be no thought behind the choice you make.

It makes perfect sense in the context of Christianity. The Bible clearly states that Satan will come disguised as an angel of light. He makes all religions seem good, and some of them really have many good things about them (Buddhism especially), but they lack one thing: Christ. No matter how good we strive to be, God demands perfection. We must follow Christ's example and die to ourselves in order to ever achieve perfection in the eyes of God. We must become an embodiment of Christ, who died and rose again.

If we're wrong, though, true Christians are the most pitiable of people. Once-a-week Christians who know what it's about but don't define their lives by it don't count, as they are false witnesses to the world about what Christianity is.

Satan isn't dumb. He knows how to fool people. If he's upfront and says to disobey God or whatever, people will probably be less inclined to believe in the religion. There is no true religion. No one has the real answers. Anyone that claims they do has some issues. Religion is man made. Rules set up to serve someone who knew that the best way to control mass amount of people through fear. God is God, not man.

The best religion is being a decent human being and taking care of your own life before you try to tell others that they're going to burn in hell. We're all just people, none of us know what is really out there. We're all just trying to figure out what ideas work best for us.

Good thinking. I personally feel that no one has the rights to say that others' believes are not right. Maybe they can promt the others to think about their religion but I don't think it is right to call them stupid or satanists. It just does not make sense. I feel that religion was created to make people follow and practise kindness and good nature and I feel that the principle of god was created to motivate people to do good things.

Good point. I believe that people have a right to believe and worship as they will. It isn't up to us to judge if they are right or wrong. I don't think just because you don't believe in Christ, you are automatically damned. I think that no matter what God you believe in, that God will judge you for the person you were in life, and if you followed your own religious beliefs. And yes, I'm christian, but I do believe in Karma also. I think that to get good, you have to give good. I also believe that no matter what you do in life, it will come back to you, either in this life, or after death.

I've yet to find the tenet or base of any organised religion I'm familar with the doesn't strike me as an insane attempt to scare people into doing what most would already do given good reason instead of lies on a par with the tooth fairy.
