i know it probably seems like a dumb question (and may be), and i think i almost expect some smart-*** answers, but i've always wondered what type of guy women consider this..

is it simply being considerate of others, and if so, what is the problem that some women have with that? is it considered some sign of weakness or something along those lines?

In my opinion, a "nice guy" categorizes a lot of men that I know, and yes being considerate falls into that category. I would never say that's a sign of weakness, if anything, it is a strength! But if I refer to someone I know as a "nice guy", it generally means that I have great love and respect for him, but that we have no serious chemistry between us, romantically. And if I recommend him to a friend, it's only because I think he's worthy, and deserves a chance with someone that might actually feel the chemistry. If someone called you a nice guy, know that she values you, just not likely on a romantic level.
Hope this helps!

A nice guy can be anything from a guy just paying attention to the girl all the way to the point of pulling out chairs and opening doors for the girl. Just be yourself but being a nice guy isn't anything bad.

For many gals, 'nice' guys are 'bad' guys, since many gals like those kind of guys.
No, we dont think its a weakness to be considerate. Its just that some gals like playing the victim.

Oh, it took me a minute to realize that you meant it as a derogatory term. Well, personally, I think it's a good thing, and what constitutes a "nice-guy" is someone that you can trust not to betray you and who won't push you past your limit. That's just a brief definition, however.
