You know what? This is your mother-in-law's problem and not yours. Further, your husband should be talking to his mother and defending you. If he's not doing this, he needs to take that responsibility. But does he know that she does this and does he understand your problems with it? If you've never talked with him about this, do so now. He can't help you if he doesn't know about it.
Some types of arthritis can include anemia. But you need to know if this is the case for you. If not, you need to find out why you are anemic. There are various types of anemia and some of them can be deadly without treatment. That treatment is not necessarily increasing your iron intake. In fact, that only serves to hide the actual problem. Just as with our knees, you need to know whyyou have a problem before you and your health care team can begin working to manage it.
I understand your frustrations. I get the same type of stuff from others, including one of my sisters (she does the same to our mother), despite the fact that my types of arthritis are so bad that not only do I use a walker to get around but I also can't work. Even the government says that I'm disabled, as their disability income support program is my only source of income.

My Mom thought I was depressed, had agoraphobia (because she does) and was lazy until I FINALLY (after 6 years) insisted my doctor give me a referral to a neurologist because I was sure I had MS. I was right! Not something anyone wants to be right about but just to show you not only will there always be people who just do NOT understand but sometimes you have to FORCE your doctor to listen to you as well. It SUCKS completely to have "invisible" problems but only you know your own body so you have to blow off the people who don't believe you. My own mother spent years seeing me as lazy and this caused an irreparable rift in our relationship she still does not recognize. You may need to have a stern talk with your MIL and tell her "Look, I know you don't believe that my health issues are real but guess what? That's YOUR problem and not mine. I have enough to deal with so I do not want to hear any more of your BS about me" Obviously you will need to phrase it as your relationship with her allows but that's the bottom line. "Mind your business and I'll mind mine, ok?" If she doesn't "get it" you may need to be more blunt but give it a try for your health. The stress of this just compromises your health more. Believe me I know where you're coming from! Hang in there!

Your mother in law needs to let go, and your husband needs to grow up and stand up for you. Find a good doctor that will get you the help that you need and get on disability. You can't get everyone to like you, unfortunately. But, that is not something you need t deal with right now. What you need to deal with is getting on disability.

I am so sorry to hear about your medical problems. I can really understand where you are coming from since I have a real bad back problem. Now your mother-in-law tell her to mind her own business and if she don't beleive you that the next time you go to the dr. you will take her along. People like her make me so mad.

Sorry about your health problems. Have you talked to your husband about your mother in law? I understand it is a touchy subject. When my mother in law said painful things, my husband would brush it off because she was elderly. Then before she passed, she had to depend on me to take her to the doctor, and we became pretty close. Now, I really miss her. Sometimes time does the trick I guess.

Sometimes you just have to ignore people who like to hurt you. She may be dealing with her own jealousy, where you and your husband is concerned,Grrr. That can be so annoying. depression can cause you to withdraw even from your Hubby,Tell him you love him but sometimes your Medication or pills can depress you too,and cause you to withdraw. So cheer up and have a nice weekend.

My heart goes out to you.
You might find that if you can learn to practice the energy therapy called emotional freedom technique that you can not only overcome your pain and other physical issues, but you will be more self-confident and self-nurturing and able to enjoy life inspite of the people (like your m-in-law) who don't know how to celebrate their own good fortune in knowing you.
