My idea only is to put big lighting at the center of your living room. & the window you can put there a white curtain. you can add color blue throw pillow in your sofa to drain the red color. white, blue, black are water element. to drain the fire color which is red put some kind of water color.

The picture was dark so I brightened it in Photoshop to get a better look. Have you considered a slipcover for the couch? It's cheaper than new furniture. You could also put a nice solid color throw over the back of the couch so a large portion is covered up. If you do something striking on the windows it could help since the window area is as large or larger than the couch.

What if you push the couch forward on the same angle as the fireplace and put a throw over the back so the traffic pattern goes behind the couch and it isn't as front and center in the room. You can add some punch by adding some larger art to the wall with color.

For the windows maybe some simple white or cream (I can't tell which the woodwork is) floor to ceiling drapes with a wide (2"-3") black band along the edge. This will give the windows more visual weight.

I think if you take some items off the fireplace and add one larger item it will again move the eye to other things rather than the couch.

I think the wall color is great. but I'd recommend losing some of the small pictures on the window wall, it seems too cluttered and lacks focus. The fireplace is a fantastic feature and I think youre underutilizing its potential as the focal point of the room. If you removed the clutter from the mantle (sorry, I cant tell what the stuff is from the darkness of the pic) and replace it with something large in scale and dramatic it would really be the wow factor in the room. youve got great proportions and height, so dont be afraid to go higher up with focal points. a large palm with sweeping arching branches would look really amazing on that ledge behind the mantle, especially if you backlit it with an up-light.
I think the room overall needs some more texture, but a natural texture that doesnt involve any more busy color patterns. the widows would really look great with simple wooden shutters made of dark brown rattan or bamboo framed in dark wood and mounted on hinges. I think the furniture is already supplying enough color for the space and all else should be basic, natural, earthy textures, colors, and materials. A dark reddish-brown leather ottoman would accent the wall color well and could also serve as a coffee table. a few simple and rustic candlesticks and vases made of bronze or dark copper or earthy pottery would be a nice touch for the fireplace mantle. A bronze or wrought iron floor lamp with amber or leather shade would brighten things up a bit and add a bit of ambiance especially with a dimmer switch.
A large piece of artwork for the wall could act as another focal point for the room. try to incorporate the sofa and wall colors in it but go for a rich but more subdued hue of the colors--ie: brick red, ivory, cinamon, sienna, mustard. maybe something with a primitive or slightly abstract/stylized theme. The great color on your walls seems to indicate that you like color influenced by a warm spicy, ethnic palette. if you decide to use an area rug, i'd stick with something either solid or with a very simple border, and i'd choose again a muted but deep color.
Its difficult to tell from the pic, but i wondered if you find those pot lights over the fireplace to be hard on your eyes or glaring. I believe there are "eyelids" you can get that attach to the rim of the pot light and enable you to block and direct its light , maybe onto the artwork on the wall and the mantle of the fireplace.
hope some of this helped you. its a great room with a fantastic wall color, fireplace, windows, and a lot of potential.

You did a good job when you put the throw pillow from the chaise onto the sofa.

With the two different patterns of fabic, you need something to unite them, possibly a white throw rug in front of each one? Try a natural texture IE faux fur or something woven.

The pics to the left of the window; good job. The create a line, however the pics to the right of the window do not create a line. And they certainly dont' HAVE to, but it appears unbalanced IMHO. I think you have plenty of color in the room and should not add additional colors, again IMHO.

I think a roman shade would look good on the windows, you can't do pull back drapes because of the small wall space to the left of the window. Something like this is what I'm seeing...

From that picture it appears as tho the ceilings are pretty tall in comparison to the furniture you have with the low sofa and chaise. maybe there is taller pieces that i can't see in the pic...if not, perhaps a ceiling medallion to pull the visual of the ceiling down a bit?

I hope this helps. EVen if you don't like my ideas, that's ok..sometime we just need help with inspiration.

have fun!

I will bring more light colors, cream or white because the room seems very dark.
Even for window treatment , I 'll go with light color, white or cream.
Also you need to work on lighting, floor lamp to brighten up the room.

Your walls look great. Have you considered buying new furniture to go with those great walls? That may very well slove your problem. Good luck.
