yes, but only in limited amounts. fish like tuna have mercury in them and it's not a good idea to give it to children/babies very often.

and I'm assuming by "out of the can" you mean, "canned tuna taken out of the can and put on a plate or in a sandwich by an adult" and not, "i'm going to open the can and let the baby eat ot of a sharp, jagged, metal can".

Could a 1 year old eat dog food, a leaf off the floor part of her bedtime book, something she found under the stove, a half a tub of parkay, stale cookies a 1975 penny? You are worried about Tuna LOL!!!!!!!

No, I wouldn't think it's the best choice. Tuna, I believe, tends to have a rather high level of mercury, which is especially harmful to young children. I would suggest you consult your child's physician about the best diet for your child. :-)

My son's doc told me to wait until 15 months before introducing any kind of seafood, but my son was also a preemie (Almost 3 months early) so check with your child's doc first.

No I don't think so because of mercury. None of us should eat canned fish more than once a week, so I would guess it would not be good for a baby or small child.
