I woke up and my ear was killing me everytime I swallowed. I took some tylenol and it eventually went away. It came back about 2 hours later. The weird thing is it does not feel like a soar throat, nor do I have any cold symptoms. I feel fine except when I swallow a pain happens near the back of my ear and under the jaw. I can tell my glands are swollen too. Some people have been telling me it's either an ear infection or strep throat. I have no idea what is going on I've never felt this way before. Any help is appreciated.

Their are tubes that connect your ear to your throat(eustachian tubes). You may have gotten a bacterica passed from your throat to your ears. You will probably start seeing signs of a cold..sore throat, drainage etc.

Did you sleep too heavily on that side of the ear? Or maybe water went into it while you were taking a shower? If the pain doesn't go away, you should visit the doc.

Sounds like swollen lymph nodes. Your body is fighting something off. If it persists, see your doctor.
