at what time?

what do you mean at this time? right now, most americans feel communism is very "bad" to put it in such terms but most americans are also uneducated on what communism is since back then, when communism was a threat, anyone who even mentioned it was investigated. and shouldn't you be asking this under history or politics or something??

We love our liberty. More important, communism is perceived (correctly) as impractical and would only hold down the standard of living we have here.
More important, we can go anywhere we want with out hassle. We can have whom we want in to our houses and we can enjoy what we want, when we want and where we want. We do not need any one to tell us what to do, when and where.

the americans loves their liberties and would do anything to prevent it from being taken away. also communism would practically prevent them from having the same level of living they currently have.
