No other tricks I have heard of or seen on Yahoo Answers are what I'm looking for. I need something original. I have a 4 year old collie-german shepard mix. We have a great relationship. He knows basic obedience. Thank you for your help.

I know someone who trained her dog to scratch her collar to the command "got fleas?" She would say the phrase whenever the dog scratched on her own, and pretty soon she caught on to do it on command.

If you are looking for an amazing trick to try an win money...good luck. If you just want something fun to show off your smart dog to friends...my sister has a shepard she taught to go find the toy..and the dog would search the house till she found it, no matter how high up it was... start by placing the toy on a low shelf and giving it a command...then gradually move the toy up a shelf till the dog has to stretch to get it.

I knew someone who had a dog that could count to ten. When he would say "one" she would bark once..."two," she would bark twice..."three" she would bark three times...and so on up until 10. He wouldn't tell me how he trained her to do it but it was pretty cool. Maybe if you could figure out how to train her...

Also another guy I knew had a dog that whenever he would say smile, the dog would show his teeth...It kinda looked like he was growling, but it wasn't. But again, he wouldn't tell me how he trained the dog to do this...

I don't understand why people are so secretive about it. Anyway, these are both exciting tricks...I just don't know how you would train your dog to do it.

We taught our dogs to wave to people. Its basically just a spin off of shake, without a hand there to grab the paw. Everyone goes nuts about it.
